Plastic bottles

How to recycle

Plastic bottles are pretty much recycled everywhere. Here’s a reminder of what to do with them…

  • Make sure they’re empty! If you leave liquid inside, the bottle will be heavier and this extra weight will stop it from being pushed onto the right conveyor belt as it goes through the recycling process
  • Empty, rinse and replace the lid
  • Leave the label on
  • Squash to save space
  • Remove pumps from soap bottles and throw in the rubbish
  • Trigger sprays don’t need removing, as these can be recycled
