Polystyrene trays can't be recycled. Try and avoid buying food and drink which comes in polystyrene! If you can't, put the containers in your rubbish bin. Polystyrene often isn't recycled because it is difficult to sort from other types of plastic waste and easily breaks into small beads which can clog up sorting machines and cause them to break down.
Recycle Week 2016 - #BadBathroomHabits
We're starting to feel a little bit excited... it's Recycle Week next week! It runs from Monday 12th to Sunday 18th, and this year we're encouraging Londoners to rethink their bathroom recycling habits, not just for the sake of the environment but also to ensure harmony in the home.
Recycling at Christmas
Our very own campaign manager, Ali Moore, was on London Live before Christmas talking about recycling paper, card and Christmas trees - a bit late we know, but follow the link for her tips for a greener festive season
Londoners urged to recycle more card & paper this Christmas
The UK uses around 300,000 tonnes of card packaging at Christmas - enough to wrap Big Ben up almost 260,000 times!
Recycle for London launches #JustOneThing campaign
We're delighted to launch our new #JustOneThing campaign to encourage Londoners to recycle more. Supported by the Mayor of London as well as Gemma Cairney, Radio 1 DJ and London resident, the campaign conducted a poll amongst 2,000 Londoners to find out a bit more about attitudes to recycling in the capital.
65% of those asked said they wished they recycled more - so why not give it a go? By recycling just one more item a week, you can make a huge difference.
