Ealing Repair café encourages the mending of clothes and textiles. We want to get more people valuing and wearing their clothes for longer and to move away from fast disposable fashion. We run friendly monthly gatherings around Ealing, giving suggestions and show examples of repairs done by our community.
The co-founders are four Chiswick residents with an interest in the environment. We met in 2022 through the Hounslow Environmental Champions programme online. When we started meeting up for coffee in real life, the idea for the Chiswick Repair Cafe was born. People bring their broken or worn items to the Repair Cafe and our volunteer repairers help them to mend their things, teach repair skills, or give advice on what can be done. Visitors pay for any necessary parts and are asked to make a donation to the Repair Cafe running costs.
