SKC is a local group for sewing Knitting and crochet in Westbourne Park for local residence. Central Saint Martins is an Art School part of University of the Arts London- MAFashion Design is a course in the college. Mason and Fifth Once the London Taxi Drivers’ headquarters, and now a flexible stay hub, with a full lifestyle ecosystem of accommodation, wellness, dining, creative workspaces and more, all in the heart of West London.
This workshop is part of Makers Camp – The West Africa project with CSM MAFashion Design in partnership with Mason and fifth Westbourne Park. The camp runs for 2 weeks at Mason and `Fifth with 1st year MA fashion design students 3 Fashion designers from West Africa and 5 UK material makers. All materials are donated by LMB textiles and Re Skinned 2nd hand materials, and Lighthouse security, Counterfeit goods, along with new natural materials supplied by British Wool> The participants on the camp will look at ways of reimagining Fashion systems, through a UK and West Africa lens. The community repair week workshop will be run by CSM staff and student volunteers and SKC local community sewing group team.
