A creative workshop programme encouraging participants to repair, alter and up-cycle their old or tired clothing, rather than buy new. Our mission is to create a more sustainable fashion industry through sharing sewing skills, changing habits and creating communities of repair. We deliver community and private workshops in community centres, libraries, workplaces, universities and more across the U.K. and online.
The original idea for the name came from creating a workshop space that acted as a practical therapy for our collective addiction to fast fashion. The workshop also offers a therapeutic space for slowing down and taking a more mindful approach to fashion.
All of the mending techniques and tips that we share mean nothing without the people who come to our workshops or connect with us online. Getting together as a group and seeing how many people are engaged with sustainability is inspiring for us all.
Thanks to funding from The National Lottery Community fund we’ll be offering free clothes repair workshops online, at @st.margarets.house and at @theremakerylondon from February 2026 until 2028. We’ll also be offering a series of free one-off workshops at community centres across London.
