In 2019 Lewisham Council was one of the first local authorities to declare a climate emergency, and since then, we’ve made some great progress towards our ambition for Lewisham to be net zero carbon by 2030. Despite the positive progress, the scale of the climate crisis remains a pressing challenge, and this is why we’re glad to be partnering with Repairs Week.
Climate change will affect us all in Lewisham, whether through supply chain challenges, hotter summers, flooding or increased energy bills. But there are many brilliant ways we can help reduce these risks, and Lewisham want to support those helping to make our borough greener, cleaner and less reliant on fossil fuels. We’re glad to be championing our local businesses, social enterprises and workshops doing great work on repairing, reusing and recycling.
