We design, manufacture and sell high-quality drawing and writing tools that last a lifetime or more. We believe products should be designed to last and repaired when broken. We are a team of designers with several friends and associates who can fix, and a workshop full of tools, we run this event as part of our business giving back and engaging with our local community.
16th March, 11:00 – 19:00
We invite members of our local community to bring their broken possessions to be fixed for free and learn repair skills. Local fixers and craftspeople offer their skills for free to reduce waste, promote agency as a consumer and build community bonds. Attendees are requested to sit with the fixer and learn what is being done so that there is a sharing of knowledge and an opportunity for cross-community engagement. There is often an inter-generational and cultural border crossed due to the nature of the event.
Are You Mad (Waste Design collective) will be doing plastic recycling using local waste plastic and moulds which we have created for Are You Mad.
Flotsam Sessions is a band that shares and play folk music from all around the world. They will be playing live at the end of the event.
