The Textile Repair Cafe in Croydon’s Whitgift Centre is a community project aimed at building textile skills and reducing the volume of clothes going to waste.
Our passionate volunteers run workshops to teach basic sewing skills to help you love your clothes for longer. We also offer a variety of workshops covering machine sewing and soft crafts like knitting, crochet and embroidery.
The Cafe hosts a regular friendly group where you can spend a couple of hours crafting and chatting in the company of like-minded individuals. Bring along some mending or your current project to our Tuesday afternoon ‘Sewcial Club’.
We are proud to be part of Green Croydon Circular Economy, registered charity number 1205983.

We’ve all got things lurking in our wardrobe that could do with some TLC. Let’s celebrate London Repair Week by loving our clothes for longer. Save money. Save the planet. Extending the life of a garment by an extra 9 months reduces its environmental impact by 20-30%. Bring along your clean items of clothing and get free advice from our talented team.
