The Woodshop of Recycled Delights CIC tackles waste, teaches skills and greens the city, reclaiming timber to harness its potential, help our environment and build amazing with our community!
Since 2022, The Woodshop of Recycled Delights (WoRD) has been addressing the pressing issue of wood waste while harnessing its potential.
We empower people to up-cycle waste wood, get involved in their local green spaces, share resources and keep making. We teach woodworking workshops, create volunteering opportunities, and construct sustainable timber infrastructure for community projects across London. We’re based at the Garden of Earthly Delights – a thriving community garden in Hackney Central – and work with organisations all over London, connecting with over 60 partners to create useful and joyful reclaimed structures for their spaces.
We bring people together to learn woodworking, grow their confidence, and connect with others – through accessible and friendly workshops, and through our volunteer action days. We believe woodworking should be for everyone, and work to create opportunities for people of all kinds to get together, learn, and share in the joys of creating with timber.
