Can you recycle?
We all have clothes, or textiles such as curtains, duvet covers and blankets that we don’t want any more or are past their best.
If you have clothes and textiles that are still in good condition, you can donate or sell them on ebay, gumtree or Shpock. If items are too old or worn out to pass on to someone else, they can always be recycled and turned into new items, such as padding for chairs and car seats, cleaning cloths and industrial blankets.
How to recycle
- Check to see if your council collects clothes and textiles for recycling
- Drop off your unwanted things at your local textiles recycling bank. Check our recycling locator tool to see if there’s a clothes bank near you. Love Not Landfill and TRAID also run clothes banks across London.
- Donate items to charity shops and re-use organisations
- Turn your unwanted clothes into discount coupons using the reGAIN app
