Did you get yourself a real Christmas tree this year? Sadly, once the New Year comes, you’ll need to throw away your tree. The good news is that real trees can be recycled and shredded into chippings, or composted, for use in local parks and green spaces!
Most councils in London will either collect your tree as part of your usual bin collection, or set up drop-off points. Have a look at our guide below to find out more about your local arrangements. If you’re not sure which borough you live in, enter your postcode into our map to find out:
Remember to
Remove all of your decorations, tinsel, stands and pots before putting your tree out for collection, or before taking it to a drop-off point.
